Life, Being Defined!

Image
I was asked by a colleague to define life. I told her, "how do you want me to define it"? She replied, "illustrate it in anything  that term arrives at you, just be realistic". I like that phrase, "just be realistic", we are more likely to describe LIFE  in its real sense if we are going to see it in that perspective. You could read a lot of articles touching the definition of life, most of it are beautifully choreographed, wittingly engineered and perfectly crafted. It entails life existence but not to the specifics of how really it is.  Life is the pattern of WAKING UP and going to SLEEP! This is the first thing you should do, WAKE UP! That's the prime of living. This is a routinary activity that one must embrace inorder to take the forwarding steps of success, achievement, goals and etc. It is a day to day action one must indulge into, to finish unfinished business, to close deals, to meet up with friends, making up with someone you ha...

Simple Truth about Siesta!

"Having a well-rested body would make someone, sound!", this is an echoing statement of my father, almost everyday when he is persuading us to have a  nap. Upon agreeing on his wish, he too would climb on his hammock and immediately drift to a merciless snoring before we could shut our eyes. This is a routine especially during summertime. After a heartful  meal, a small chit chat follows and little bit later there goes the warning of that routinary activity know to be 'siesta'. Being a kid, who would always love to play, I do abhor the idea of taking that 'post lunch sleep'. To my young mind, it spoils the fun, it cuts off the time I should be spending with my friends outside. TRIVIA This term comes from the latin word "hora sexta" - meaning the  'sixth hour' (counting from dawn, thus, making it a mid-day rest) . This practice had been introduced by spaniards to the Philippines, however,  other cultures also embraces the luxury of ...

De-stressing secrets!

Cramming for a lenghty coverage of exam, meeting deadlines, top-over schedules for kids activity at school - these are just some examples of situations that causes your heart to pump faster, pressurized and tensed. Whoever could have invented the word stress, must owe something to those who devout themselves  de-stressing affected ones. STRESS It is the feelings created as we repond to certain situations or events we encounter in our day to day existence. Contrary to what we commonly believe, this term comes in a plus and minus. The plus or positive stress scopes on how we respond positively on certain crises, like an unexplainable strength during a fire or in any case with actual danger. The minus or bad stress relates to our feelings on certain situations which needs longer period of recuperating to its normal state, like in a break-up-relationship situation, loss of job or someone - these cases depletes our body and mental resistance, weakens our immune system and further c...

...picking up a choice...

That big day so called "election" is fast in pacing through our calendars. Would-be-candidates are already on its stir of thudding and tapping peoples shoulder, implying for a futuristic nod. We have to carefully examine these aspirants for political posts, for a slight injury in writing a wrong name in our ballots would leave us in demise for an agonizing count of years. Promises would be laid.  Let us not be vouched by these sweet tongue, we have to be scrupulous in weighing our choice. As Gandhi had emphasized "What we do today, will be our tomorrow", so then, we should bear in mind to take each of our time to look closely as to who deserves to be scribbled when the time comes. Politics had been rigorously defined as a "dirty arena" to be on. Well-learned and analyst on politics asserted on the practices of politicians, drawing influences and dominance with the use of the power affilliated to them. Negative as it may generally speak, some are...

....In a room...

Empty stares.  The hush sound of the wind gushing by through the window seems audible. It is like an encryptic language needs to be decoded with deep thoughts and focus.  The curtain which seems to dance in the rhythm of the wind blows, swiftly glazes, in harmony with the nature. It must have been in communication with the wind as it ushers its waves of grace in subtle movement of pattern. The cricket sound, symphonizes the entire room  from outside.  The stillness of my room amplifies the slight movements and sounds from the outside realm of my world. The littlest creature that crawl and flew seemed noticeable. The world stops at nothing, and there sets placid vibes. Though at times a flood of wrecking feelings rocks your serenity, it gushes sudden rush of stressing emotions which would engulf you, and your entirety, that humming stillness would then put a gravity of loneliness. Tears would lushly flow form your eyes, bitter emotions are bursted ...

Getting lined up for the tour inside the cave. Poses a bit for souvenir pictures.  Fully geared, aye! Such a wide grin after the ultimate experience!! PALAWAN, Puerto Princesa, known for its Underground River, hailed to be one of the seven wonders of the world. This has been the trip i've never dreamed of becoming a reality, but alas, i've been there!  I have set foot on o ne of the famous mystic of nature, the Underground River!!! Long, creamy-white, fine sand beach welcomes the tourist before going to the main attraction-the cruise inside the cave. This sight alone enthralls the beauty of nature which makes one, sigh in contentment. Its serene and placid vibe overwhelms every person that visits the place.  The point of entry and exit  of the entire escapade.  A one kilometer cruise via boat, with a trained boatman of course. Inside,  it showcases different rock formations or stalactites. A wondrous and ticklish imagination ...

Saluyot: “Inexpensive health and beauty booster”

Image
When I was kid, I used to play with jute leaves, the elongated sprout of it used to be my green banana, and the leaves I seemingly cook it and sell it to my friends (the usual 'cook and sell' kids do) only to find out later that my supposed 'plaything' is a plant of wonder. Historians reported this to have existed since 6000 BC and had been widely used in the cuisine of ancient Greek people. They believed that "Mulukhiya" as they call it "is the food for the nobles and kings". It was was even deemed to be one of the beauty secrets of Cleopatra. Saluyot, with a scientific name of Corchorus Olituris Linn , as famoulsy called, is also known as 'jute leaves', 'molukhiya', 'mallow leaves'. It is green, leafy, shrublike vegetables that sprouts anywhere, almost unnoticed; if cultivated, it requires less care and can be grown whole year round. It is known for its characteristrics as slimy like that of okra. The leaves can...

Weekends with the kids   From a whole week of heavy loads, pressures, deadlines from work- weekend rewards off all those 'heavy sigh' especially if you've got to spend it with your family.
